Ian Anderson and Amanda Black extended their lead in the GTA class of the GT Cup Championship after recording another three podiums.

The weekend's track activity began with a 30 min free practice and was the first running the team had on the national circuit having not been able to test on the previous day. This highlighted that the shortest circuit layout at Silverstone was going to be busy, slippery and understeer would be a problem. The team's pace was however good in this session and as Amanda Black took to the track with a new set of Pirellis for qualifying she was straight onto the pace set a best lap 0.2 secs ahead of title rival Dan O'Brian and the rest of the GTA field. Anderson took the second stint in quali but was 0.2 secs behind his teammate.

Race 1: was driven by Ian Anderson, as has become the Jazzy Ginetta routine in GTA, starting from pole with O'Brien and newcomer Webster in their Ginettas immediately behind. As the lights went out, Ian immediately set about building a gap to the Ginetta's behind and did so pulling out a gap of  around 4 seconds in the first few laps. Sadly a fire for a McLaren brought out the Safety Car and all the work of the good start was lost. Following a long period of safety car, the race continued. The restart went well, neither of the other two G55s made any gains and Anderson could start to build the gap again, with 8 mins to go the gap was back to 3 secs but the front tyres were starting to overheat as the track temp went up causing understeer. This continued to get worse as Ian kept pushing to take the victory and following a small moment running wide on the exit of Luffield  Anderson lost his gap and the lead. O'Brien had got past but Ian began to drive around the understeer and began to catch the leader again as the race drew to an end. A brave move from Ian with some great late braking saw him emerge back in front with only a few minutes remaining. He managed to resist the pressure from the two Ginetta's behind and take the victory, the second GTA win of the season for the Jazzy Ginetta.

Race 2: saw Amanda take the seat and starting from pole position again as Ian claimed the fastest lap in race one. With confidence that she was on the pace following her great performance in qualifying she made a great rolling start and led into the first corner. For the first few laps there was a Ferrari between the Jazzy Ginetta and the other two Ginetta's enabling Amanda to pull out a lead. The Ferrari had a problem and entered the pits enabling the 2 Ginetta's of O'Brien and Webster to hunt Amanda down. Unfortunately Amanda caught slower traffic heading into Becketts which enabled the Ginetta pairing to catch up. Down the Bentley straight and into Brooklands Amanda defended the inside line. Webster took the racing line and overtook on the outside. Amanda set the car up for a good exit out of Luffield but an opportunistic O'Brien squeezed in the inside. There was contact between the two cars but no damage. Amanda was now third and spent the rest of the racing  trying to find a way back past O'Brien, she couldn't quite but did claim the fastest lap of the race in her efforts.

For Sunday's Qualifying: the team decided to alter the set up of the car to avoid the understeer suffered in the previous two races. Amanda went out first for an 8 lap session with new tyres and reported the car felt good. Once the tyres were up to temperature the lap times came down and Amanda posted two lap times fast enough for GTA pole!  After a quick driver swap Ian drove the remaining part of qualifying but Amanda's best lap when the tyres were fresh was the best the pair lodged.

Race 3: the pit stop race was always going to a difficult race due to carrying a 20 second success penalty from good results at the previous meetings. The Jazzy car, O'Brien and Webster all had the same penalty but others didn't and this meant that other GTA cars were going to come into play during the 50 minute feature race. A difficult start for Amanda saw O'Brien on the outside who managed to jump the start taking the lead into Copse, Webster followed O'Brien through to take second and all of this under a cloud of cement dust put down from an oil spill from the previous race. The race settled down with Amanda in third and similar times being posted from the top four cars but things were becoming tricky as the sun came out and the track temperature rocketed up, the balance of the Jazzy Ginetta began to change again giving Amanda more than just the close racing to think about. Coming onto the pit straight Lifetime Racing team manager Dan Eagling radioed through to Amanda to warn of a spinning GTB Porsche on the pit straight. A fairly scary moment for Amanda as the spinning car was blocked from sight by the two Ginetta's. Black took avoiding action putting two wheels on the grass to avoid the car, which lost time to the GTA Porsche behind in fourth and ultimately gave them an opportunity to snatch third. Soon though third was Amanda's again as the similar Ginetta of O'Brien had sustained damage in an incident and had to retire. The pit stop was next and the driver swap went exactly to plan and only just over a second was lost against the minimum possible, however the cars without success penalties had been brought into play and another Ginetta of Brent Millage had now taken third.

The chase was on, the gap on leaving the pits was around 7 seconds and every lap was coming down, typically by a second a lap. With 16 minutes to go Millages G55 was in range and Ian wasted no time in passing. The gap started to build from Millage but the two cars ahead were just too far down the road to chase and with O'Brien out it was more important to bring it home and maximise the championship points gain. So a straight forward run to the line keeping out of trouble and a safe third place was the result.

Ian Anderson said; 'A challenging weekend with car setup and handling but overall happy with the outcome. Now leading GTA class with a helpful buffer to second position. Some interesting lessons learned and relieved that a small mistake didn't cost us a Second Jazzy Ginetta win.'

Amanda Black added; 'Mixed feelings after the weekend. I'm over the moon to achieve my first GTA pole positions, however not to convert them into race wins is frustrating but happy that I'm on the pace. When you starting thinking about the bigger championship picture it was a great weekend for Jazzy Lifetime racing as we leave with a bigger championship margin.'

The next round of the GT Cup Championship is at Rockingham on 18th and 19th June where the team will look to continue their run of 9 podiums from 9 races.
